Since 1991, Sher has been in education and service roles at nonprofit organizations that support local youth. She taught in downtown Los Angeles, East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park, and continually strives to impact in her community. In addition to a bachelor's degree with a teaching credential from the University of Southern California and a master's degree in psychology, organizational development from Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Sher is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher and is currently in an 800+ hour yoga therapy training. She is an Accessible Yoga Ambassador and leads a weekly chair yoga class. Sher and her husband Adam raised two daughters and are companions to two labradoodles. |
about Belvia
Belvia finds joy while being competent in all her endeavors. She harvests fruit and vegetables at her local community garden so that she can cook healthy, true farm-to-table, meals. She loves good food and appreciates cooking and eating large family-style meals. Belvia approaches life with immense gratitude on and off her yoga mat, and after you hear her infectious laugh, you can't help but want to hang out with her and learn a thing or two. During her usual work week, she is an executive business partner at Google. She has been in the start-up sector for over two decades. |

Hemla founded 7 Rays Holistic Center 19 years ago. Her work focuses on one simple statement - Awaken the power within you! To be able to see within is to know yourself and bring out the best in you. She teaches meditation, which she first studied in 2001, and hosts meditation communities for corporate wellness and community based groups. Hemla's background is as an artist and teacher, she holds a teaching degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Pietermaritzburg in South Africa. She taught at elementary, middle and high schools in South Africa and Beijing, China in both private and public school settings. |

Josephina, or Ms JJ, is an elementary school teacher in the Redwood City School District, where she has been for the last 15 years. She models her classroom on the premise of community building with a little bit of tough love. JJ earned her bachelor's degree and teaching credential from San Francisco State University. She is a believer in moving her body and challenged herself with obstacle course races and half marathons. Now you will find her chasing her daughter or power walking the hills near her home. |
about Mickey
Mickey is a personal trainer with specialties in functional applied neurology. Her specialties include but are not limited to, movement reeducation, pain free movement and vision therapy. She has an educational style in training which stems from her first career as a high school English teacher. She has firsthand knowledge of the physical, mental, emotional and energetic demands that teachers brave on a daily basis. Mickey currently thrives in Burlingame with a few house plants and her goldfish, Albert. |
about sharon
Sharon is passionate about serving her community. She began her practice in 1975, and has studied many forms of yoga, breath work, and meditation. In 2005 she certified in Forrest Yoga, focusing on healing the body, mind and spirit through movement and breath. As a teacher at the Art of Yoga Project, Sharon seeks to bring healing to traumatized, incarcerated youth. She also serves families and women, teaching Prenatal Yoga at Blossom Birth Center, Stanford and Google. Sharon loves to travel and leads yoga wellness retreats in Mexico and California.
